Shinsegae operates its premium outlets as a joint venture with Simon Property Group, the American outlet giant behind Premium Outlets in the US. The result is a distinctly international feel — open-air promenades, curated brand mixes, and aggressive markdown policies that apply even to current-season goods.

7. Hyundai Premium Outlet Gimpo (현대 프리미엄아울렛 김포점)
The Hyundai flagship near Seoul and the one most often recommended to first-time outlet visitors. Over 350 brands in a resort-style complex next to the Ara Waterway and near Gimpo International Airport. The grounds include rooftop gardens, water features, and a children’s play area — it reads more like a leisure destination with shopping attached than a shopping centre with amenities bolted on.

Practical Tips
Tax refunds: Foreign visitors are eligible for VAT refunds (typically 10%) on purchases over ₩30,000 at registered stores. Look for the tax refund desk near the main entrance of each outlet. Carry your passport.
Best days to go: Weekday mornings are quietest. Weekend afternoons — especially Saturday from 13:00 onwards — can get busy, particularly at Gimpo and Yeoju. Peak season is late-October to November (autumn) and early January (post-New Year sales).
Shuttle buses: Hyundai Gimpo’s free shuttle from Myeongdong is the most traveller-friendly transport option of all nine outlets. For Yeoju, the KLOOK/KKday day-tour packages include transport and are competitively priced. Most other outlets are most easily reached by car or from nearby metro stations.
Closures: All nine outlets are typically open on Korean public holidays, including Chuseok and Seollal — both Shinsegae and Lotte opened on these holidays for the first time in recent years, and that policy has continued in 2026.
